Spotlight – BeBalanced Hormone Weight Loss Center

BeBalanced Hormone Weight Loss Center - Jan BenNOVAWE’s newest business member is BeBalanced Hormone Weight Loss Center in Leesburg, Virginia owned by NOVAWE member Jan Benjamin.  BeBalanced is a non-medical, holistic approach to solving stubborn weight gain, PMS and menopause symptoms.  Their program focus is on naturally balancing hormones to provide for stabilization of health, mood and weight regardless of your age.

What a great company to support our NOVAWE equestrian club as who doesn’t want to look better in their breeches or feel better on their horse?

Benjamin, a lifelong equestrian and NOVAWE member, knows the importance of feeling balanced.  She left a long and stressful career in the corporate world to start this business in the beginning of 2019.  “I wanted to do something meaningful for myself, and I love helping women make a transformation to health and happiness.”

Benjamin herself participated in the 14-week program in 2018; initially 22 pounds melted away and have stayed off by following the healthy eating plan and taking natural hormone and other health supplements the program recommends.  Since then she lost another 20 plus pounds and has kept it off.  She has helped scores of customers do the same, many losing over 75 pounds and all feeling great.

“Not all our customers are looking to lose weight, many just want to feel better, improve menopause and PMS systems and better manage stress.  We can help everyone,” Benjamin explained.  Even in this time of the pandemic, Benjamin works from her store, located at 221 Crescent Station Terrace SE, Leesburg, VA 20175, and daily holds zoom conferences with clients as well as ships product.  “We are open and busy. I’m finding  people want and need support with their health in this trying time,” said Benjamin

Horse owners spend a lot of money and energy on supplements, diet, training and exercise for their horses.  Benjamin wants to help their horses’ humans do the same for themselves. “Now is a great time to find balance.  How often are we served an opportunity as an entire culture to take a break from the pressure of all the busyness? Often, a common hesitation in starting any new wellness program is pending travel plans or big social events. We have been presented a window in time to work on our weight and wellness goals without interruption,” Benjamin’s website states.

Benjamin encourages NOVAWE members to contact her to discuss how they can use this period of downtime to focus on their own health. The BeBalanced method works to bring women back into hormonal alignment. Correct hormone balance combats the many forms of stress we encounter each day, and particularly now, that disrupts our health and well-being and can negatively affect our weight.  Initial virtual consultations are free; sign up on her website.

Benjamin has participated in one Allison Reed NOVAWE clinic and is looking forward to participating in more events as soon as NOVAWE’s events resume.  Currently she primarily trail rides any one of her three horses in the hills near her home farm in Lucketts, Virginia.  In years past she participated in foxhunting, and before that Benjamin was a successful amateur owner hunter competitor.

In-between she raised an internationally successful equestrian daughter, Makayla Benjamin, who campaigned successfully in junior and amateur hunters, equitation and jumpers from Florida to New York.  Makayla also rode in college for Sweet Briar and represented the United States in International Student Riders, winning the Show Jumping World Finals in Germany in 2015.  After years of being a dedicated “horse show mom,” Benjamin is looking forward to pursing the exciting sport of Working Equitation for herself, making new friends, and helping the community improve their health and wellbeing through her BeBalanced Hormone Weight Loss Center.
